The Buyer’s responsibilities include working with the Commodity Manager in all facets of the procurement of components and support of sales staff within their particular commodity. The Buyer role at our client is in effect a JUNIOR SALES role, where you don't mind doing all sales over the phone.
Specific Duties:
- Sourcing of product in response to customer requirements and for proactive offers for sales. - Makes 100-150 outbound sourcing calls per day. - Negotiating for the procurement of product to include price, terms and ship date. - Ensuring quality in the sourcing of product. - Purchasing of product, negotiation of shipping terms and delivery date. - Vendor development-builds strong long term relationships with key vendors and sourcing partners. - Vendor qualification. - Population and maintenances of CRM. - Track and report market developments, happenings and trends; provides input into the biweekly Green Sheet. - Proactively bring offers of product to sell. - Makes 100-150 outbound sourcing calls per day. - Communicates with Sales and Commodity Managers. - Expertly qualifies offers and provides information about offers to the Sales and Commodity teams. - Provides market information gleaned from discussions with vendors. - Get availabilities from vendors so that the outside inventory can be populated |

| As a Buyer you must be well disciplined, comfortable on the phone, well organized, possess strong communication skills and be a team player who thrives in a multitasking environment. The job is results driven and results are measured on a monthly basis. This requires a self starter who can follow directions. Must possess a 4 year MBO degree and have 2 years post collegiate work experience in Sales/Telesales |
